I have been busy at work and other stuff over the last couple of weeks, so haven't been able to take trev out for a blast. I have cleaned her all ready for a drive to the beach, then I can take some photo's.
Checked the forecast for today and it gave sunshine in my area for the morning!! Not even cloudy!! So, get up early, it's a little cloudy but then it clears and I have my blue sky!
Get the car out the garage, hood down and off i go!

Then I notice a big black, low cloud behind me, so I keep it planted to get to Exmouth beach for a pic of the car, just as I get there the rain starts!! What, the, fk! How can they get it SO wrong? I got one pic then drove off to Tesco where I parked under some trees, and waited for it to pass.. which it didn't. So, my lovely clean car is filthy, my chassis get a soaking, and i'm pissed right off. The met office is a mile from my house!

Buttcracks banghead

added the 1 pic i took..

It is a pain when it goes like that.
For the last few years a friend and I have had permission from the wives to have a few days away in the S and last week was the one for this year with a decent forecast when we sorted it all out but ... we went from Preston and over Kirkstone Pass (in the rain + cloud) then over Hartside (again cloud + rain) and then to Hexham area for first night. Ketvrin (and TVR friend Ian) came for a beer with us (good one!). Tues we went up and to the NE coast - roof down for a bit then up and into the borders to Duns (Jim Clark room there very interesting) and finally Kelso for a couple of nights. Wed we toured around and had a look at the museum in Hawick to see the Jimmy Guthrie and Steve Hislop stuff (a good collection incl some bikes and loads of trophys) - wet on the way back late afternoon. Thursday we drove across past Peebles and Biggar to the W coast and stopped at S of Girvan. The spray from the heavies was bad with standing water in some places mainly (why are the roads in the mid Scotland area so rough - even the A roads? - may be the heavies with all the opencast mining??) at the side of the road so no huge problem. We drove home yesterday and it was mainly dry but plenty of spray in the morning. All in all a good week with some super roads and not much traffic - BUT - the S was filthy frown
I spent 1.5 hours just washing it down and the hood (cleaned/reproofed a few months ago) now looks a bit mucky again ... ah well the good news is it didn't leak or melt in the rain. Now all I have to do is get underneath it with the waxoyl again ....

Yes, hearing about Jim's route made me want to follow him and although I didnt quite manage, I did manage a run across to Rothbury, up to Berwick, over to Kelso (past that lovely long wall...) Jedburgh and back through Kielder... As you have all been saying the weather forecast was bright spells in the East... East of where ???? it showered all day until we got past Kielder on the way back...

How can they get it so wrong so often and keep their jobs ? if most Sales Forecasts were as inaccurate there would be no-one left in business rolleyes

anyway, the run way still good and I enjoyed it even though it was roof up the whole way frown

Now, the forecast is good for this week so I'm planning to take the car to work... you see, we never learn wink

so the op's car is a fair weather car ?

seems a rather strange thing to have, do you not use it during winter ?

looks ok, but a wet chassis is a big deal ?

Not sure what the "op's car" is but my ref to waxoyling after the trip is simply that some of the roads were so rough and gravelly that I probably need to clean some of the gravel/muck off underneath - (or at least check it) - and as it is due another waxoyling I'll take the opportunity to do that as well whilst its jacked up so I'll have a good tinker ... and get filthy as well - a good job the wife is away this weekend .. biggrin
