Black sticky stuff!

I think it is called silkaflex??

I need to get a load of it ideally on Saturday. Can it be bought anywhere in 'normal' shops or is it a mail order job only?

E-bay seems to have loads of it, general consensus is you need Sikaflex 221 general adhesive sealant.
It's main application seems to be marine, most boat chandlers sell the stuff. Some people also said Sikaflex 251 (or might be 252) is also good stuff.

ok great thanks. The main thing I need it for is sealing the headlamp lenses in. For other bits that need sealing I will use black silicone sealant.

I've always used 291 and that does the job for glueing the headlightpods on a Griff and all those waterproofing jobs. £10 from local boat chandlers.

SIKAflex 221 for bonding lenses to the body and Ambersil 5024A for sealing the gaps. Ambersil can be purchased off fleebay for about £5. The Sikaflex is about £12 from marine shops or flee bay

Sorry OT here but will sikalex 291 do for sticking the black rubber/plastic windscreen surround on my clio.

I think its just supposed to pop into position and stay there but gets sucked out at motorway speeds!

That's what I stuck mine with.

Any decent chandlery will supply Sikaflex
291 is the stuff I use on the boat and it will stick and seal almost anything.

Any good car autofactors sells the stuff.

there are various names and numbers but the stuff is generally referred tpo as PU7 Automotive adhesive sealant. available in Black, white and grey at Brown Bros BMH, Euro car parts etc etc etc
