Tiger bread

I bloody love this stuff. When ever near *insert name of shop that sells it*, I always buy it.

Now I have a bread maker, and have started making rolls that I can chuck in the oven at lunch. I'd love to make Tiger rolls.

Anyone have any experiences of this? Or know how to make it? I'm pretty sure its a paste you put on the top of the dough.

I know this! Had the same thought myself a while back but never tried making it myself. Its made with sesame oil, and then rice paste on the top to make the tiger look HTH

So Mix sesame oil and rice paste together and slap it on? Simples

Only thing I found with google. It did seem a bit weird...

Thanks alot, off to waitrose at lunch then! (If only there was a local Tesco, I wouldn't need to make it!)

Am I the only one that doesn't do Tiger bread/rolls? I like the taste but the sticky residue makes a right mess of your hands hence I stick with crusty rolls.

All the ones I've ever had from Asda or Sainsburys have had a sticky residue on the bottom of them which stains your hands and makes a right bloody mess??

I'll probably get ID'd and treated like a criminal if I buy them from Tescos!

Bugger, just went to waitrose, found the oil but not the flour. So I've had to settle with "ciabetta mix" and made that instead.

Will pop to a massive store and see if they have the flour?

Turns out the factory must have had a mix up and just put standard bread mix in the ciabatta bag.

It was just bread, but shaped like ciabatta (by me)

I have a loaf of that rising as we speak. The recipe has rye sourdough starter in it though, so I'm afraid it's only really one for obsessive bakers who happen to have the stuff on hand. Tastes good though...

My local Tesco now do a tiger baguette - a genius creation.

I had one still warm from the store oven earlier today, it was gone in about 20 mins

I get Tiger rolls from my local Tesco.



But I think I've found something better. Honestly.














Tesco salt and pepper bread. It only comes in massive sort of bloomer things but jesus is it good. Possibly better than tiger bread. Try it.
