'Straight out of camera' thread
Discussion
Seem to be enough threads going on for different types of shot- how about posting your best unaltered images, jpgs straight from the camera.
Might not be for everyone - might not be for anyone - and I'm not trying to start some sort of purity discussion; just interested to see some straightforward photographic talent. Shoot RAW? Guess there's no quick and easy way of telling how the jpg was created so straight conversions are cool too.
I'll kick things off:

Yea but no but... straight out of my camera is well over 4k pixels wide, and I'm sure not going to let PH attempt to resize to 750!
Great shot btw.
Thanks Great shot btw.

I guess resizing is fine - we mostly know to allow for a deterioration in sharpness for the resized image. My shot above is from the resized version at flickr so only 500px wide, although it was at hi res on a D80. It's the composition and processing that I figured would be interesting to see.

P.s. how do i get front curtain on my flash?!
Front curtain or 1st curtain sync is typically the default setting. If you're using a Canon EX speedlight, 2nd curtain sync can be set on the speedlight (third button from left) or on the camera (via the "flash control" menu). If set on the speedlight, it stays in operation until de-selected (even if the speedlight is turned off). Not sure about controls on Nikon speedlites.Gassing Station | Photography & Video | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
