August Photo Competition - The Winners!
Discussion
Firstly, thanks to you all for such an eclectic range of images for this month's competition. I think it shows well the diversity of the elements that contribute to our "typical" summer weather!
The winners are in reverse order, but I'd like to mention a couple of images that I really liked. Never having judged a photo competition before, it really is a tough task, so inevitably it does end up with an entirely subjective decision on my part.
So, the two "mentioned" are:
Baz7175 - a lovely feeling of just wanting to run down into that sea

Colin RedGriff - an excellent visualisation of a British summer's day

And the winners..... in Third Place:
Jackal - great composition, evocative and slightly retro colouring. Pedants may moan about the horizon but I like it anyway.

In Second Place:
Rasputin - fabulous! Haven't we all been there and known that feeling, especially with kids in the car. Composition spot on, choice of focus good and suitably bleak colouring. Nice one!

In First Place, this month's winner:
PPhillpott - I loved it the moment I saw it in the Discussion thread. To me, living on the South coast, it sums up summer in Britain. The image is superb, simple yet so effective composition, gorgeous colours, and the feeling of just wanting to be there. Well done.
