I've heard theres a new style of Autocross/Slalom type event coming to the UK, I think it's being done by the MSA but I can't find anything on their website.

I think its based on Autocross or the US style Solo events.

Does anybody know more about it??

they are called a "solo" and very similar to an autotest but you dont use reverse. the course is marked out by two different coloured cones, you go one side of one colour eg, left of yellows, and the other side of the other colour, eg right of red (that wasnt very well explained was it?!) you get the idea. most courses are quite tight and you would really only use first and second gears. the bristol motor club www.bristolmc.org.uk were the first to organise one in the uk as far as i am aware, there are results and pictures on the web page. not sure how the MSA are dealing with them, there was talk as to which section was taking control of them (sprint or autotest). there is one scheduled for spring this year. i think most motor clubs are suffering from the lack of facilities to organise and run an event. i have only marshalled at the bristol motor club events but they were great fun. the competitors are split into three groups and whilst one group competes and another prepares to compete, hte final group are the marshals, a quick change over and the roles are switched round. it worked well and meant the club werent searching for marshals before the event. any more questions??!!

It's fun, fun, fun! And I'm not just saying this because I'm actually halfway decent at autocross.
