Just spent the last 2 hours downloading and reading everything I could find on the C6 now we're in "offical" rather than "stealth" mode... Hib Halverson's article, as well as the stuff on the corvettemusem website, all interesting.

First thing for me is that car looks absolutely gorgeous: wide, mean, and the "afterburner" rear lights (not that we'd probably be allowed them in the UK ) all add up.

Certainly none of the sneaky photos we've had over the last few months do *any* justice whatsoever. That car is 100% drop-dead gorgeous.

Now, if that wasn't enough, 400hp+lbft to play with is very nice in the base model... And, just to show how converted I've become to the new C6 messiah, I'd have to say that it looks better in that Sunset Orange than Red... And I thought all Corvette's were supposed to be red.

(mind you, if [i.e. when ] I get one, I'll need a different colour otherwise my neighbours won't know the difference between the C6 and my ZR1... driving Beemers, Mercs, EVOs and the like ]

So, now what I hope is this pushes the C5 prices down a little (sorry C5 owners!) as I do like them, and my (not my wife's however ) long-term plan is to have one-of-each Corvettes...

I like it too. The interior and exterior, powertrain, are going to be excellent (the pics of the interior and exterior look great to me), and I'm sure the handling and aerodynamics will be very good - they were for the C5.

Nice C6 screen saver plus a 50th anniversary screen saver.

c4koh, I couldn't agree more. I am absolutely taken by the car. I am not that easily convinced, and always felt the C5, for all of its technical improvements, looked like it was "unfinished", or more likely, designed by committee. Result was a car that lacked styling character (my opinion only). This car really makes up for that.

The more I see of it, the more disappointed I get. For example, from most angles, the car looks great but it's the front end that seems to be missing from a lot of the photos. Look at this one - it looks really Japanese and where on earth is that cooling fan going to fit?
