Tuscan...HELP!

I am a prospective Tuscan buyer, and a TVR virgin. I love the way they look, and drive. BUT i need the car to get me to work at 5.30 in the morning, and live a decent drive from a main dealer. What is the real truth about reliability. The odd rattle i can deal with, but breakdowns and non starting i cannot. My M3 is due a change and i am desperate to avoid a Porsche but if Tuscans really are unreliable you would all be doing me a massive favour by puttiing me off...although clearly i don't want to be!
Also, what should i pay for a 2002 4.0 with air con and sub 8K from a dealer with a warranty... i have about 32k to spend...... any advice good and bad is hugely appreciated...
