New Boxster owner / ex TVR owner - some questions
Discussion
As a new Boxster owner I have a few questions that hopefully someon ecan help me with.
As well as this excellent forum I was a regular user of a couple of TVR mailing lists (i.e. e-mail as opposed to web-sites) that were very useful for technical info., chat etc. - do similar things exist for Porsches / Boxsters ??.
Is it worth joining the Porsche Club GB or The Independant Porsche Enthusiasts Club ???.
Are there any dealers / specialists with on-line shops ??.
Cheers,
Mike.

Hi Mike. Welcome to Boxster ownership. You won't regret it.
Well I did join the PCGB and I think its probably worth it - at least - I will, personally, be renewing my membership this year.
You get a mag (like TVR's Sprint) called Porsche Post which is simply crammed full of ads for OPCs, Specialists and so on. Its also got plenty of the usual club nonsense about how a group of owners went somewhere and got pissed. You know the sort of thing...
PCGB also organise track days at reasonable prices. I will be doing some this year.
There are some on-line resources. The one that comes to mind is rennlist. www.rennlist.com
I think there was somethging called Pete's Boxster Board but I don't know much about that.
PCGB have their own web-site with a members area that has some useful things.
PH is probably the best UK source of information on absolutely anything of course. (Sorry, Ted!)

Thanks for the reply Don, I had a quick look at Rennlist - it looks useful.
The thing that I am really hoping to find is a dealer / specialist with an on-line shop. A couple of the TVR dealers have this and it means that you can check the prices / order spares in the peace of your your own home - I'm sure however that a Porsche won't need as many spares - perhaps that's why no-ne does it .
