kids want the Mario Kart game - can buy new, or via Amazon can buy second hand... anyone with experience of the 2nd hand market for these games - don't want to end up with a game that doesn't work...
Or I am I worrying over nothing...

Everything I've bought 2nd off Amazon has been fine. Stick to sellers with decent ratings and there's not much to worry about.
You could always try popping into game or somewhere and buy it pre-owned, as they generally test them before sticking them on sale.

Yeah have a rumage at your local Game or Blockbuster for a cheaper and gaurunteed 2nd hand purchase.

Blockbuster is offering you 18 pounds to trade it in, selling for £24 i think
