BMW warranty quote on Z4M

So, time for renewal of extended warranty - letter through post cites £835 comprehensive with £100 excess for 50K miles. £77/month.

Put my actual in at 38k Miles - get £835 ther is a surprise.

Anybody done the deal on phone - do you to haggle a bit?

The price is the same upto 60K miles, at which point it significantly rises. There's no haggling either the price is as stated. You can up the excess or lower the level of cover and either add or remove the breakdown cover.

Don't forget that you're also tied to the BMW network for servicing once you buy the extended warranty.

indeed - but not that many easily accessible independents nearby - and the usual bm garage is not too bad on costs.

I just bought a Z4M about 1 month ago. It was going to cost me about £70/month but that was with breakdown cover.
In the end I did not go for it. Mines an 06 with 20k miles on clock and to be fair. I'm just gunna take the chance nothing goes wrong..!

What happens if you do not have the breakdown cover with the warranty and have a different one? They will take your car to another garage. Surely no other garage can touch the car?

You can't do services/inspections or get warranty work done at any other garage, but maintenance can be done anywhere, so it'd be up to you to assess whether it's going to be a warranty claim or not.

Just extended my warranty and did include the breakdown cover. It seemed to be pretty good value compared to something like the aa for what it includes, IMO

Yes.

Anything that isn't part of the service schedule (i.e. fluids, filters & valve clearances) can be done elsewhere - although I'd suggest you read the T&Cs before doing so as you never know what's been put in it. But obviously you'd read the small print in the T&Cs before you bought any insurance policy!
