Great stuff - love the vintage desaturation! Handmade borders? VERY effective.

Very nicely done. Think I prefer the processing of these to the Bug Jam ones - more subtle. Is it as simple as dropping the saturation a little or have you done something more complicated?

Thanks guys. Borders are from Shutterstock, desatursation was done using a gradient map and then reducing the effect smile

Here's some more...

Lovely shots and processing but the border isn't my cup of tea if I'm honest.

These Hayride pix inspired me to have a go at faded pictures.

So I followed your tutorial for my first project on recently bought PSE.

I could never hope to emulate your expertise with my little Canon Ixus, but I thank you for the inspiration.

NIck, is there a reason/fashion/cultural significance behind the stylised stencil graphics that are so common on the cars(and handbags) you photograph?

I do love the look of some of the low ride conversions.

I am guessing it wasn't a quiet day?

No stencilling there, those stripes are painted freehand smile They've been on cars since Von Dutch and Ed Roth started doing wild paint schemes in the 50s. It went a bit out of vogue but is very much in fashion again now. One of my friends Simon Pollock - Nefarious Pinstriping does alot of stuff that I shoot and Neil Melliard at Pro Sign who is one of the world best.

Simon even came round and pinstiped my BBQ for me...

There is a book (which includes some of my shots) called Pinstripe Planet with lots of this stuff, Pinstripe Planet 2 is due out soon and I think my BBQ may be in there biggrin

Thanks Nick.

Stencilling wasn't really what I meant but I didn't think they would have been free hand either.
I was recently in Rome and saw some similar ideas in a Da Vinci collection. His stuff was a little more geometric.

I really like the style and may try and incorporate something similar in a new business I am starting.

Absolutely brilliant photos, you're a very talented guy. I'm really into the hot rod scene myself, could you tell me more about that particular event or similar ones coming up nationally? Thanks.
