Goodwood today - car porn!
Discussion
Thought I would share some pics of my day. I met my friend and his newly acquired NSX down there this morning. Turns out there was quite a lot of nice exotica there
I also got my first go round the track as a passenger - it was utterly fabulous and I shall be driving next time!
Highlight of the day - Rowan Atkinson turning up in his F1 & absolutely screaming it round the track, driving that car as it is meant to be driven
Anyway, apologies for the quality as they're off my phone, but pics...
Nice line up!

Me in the NSX!

Lining up to get on the track (me as passenger sadly):

90's Jap heaven
(my car & his)

The atmosphere was fantastic down there today, we should have a South Coast meet there sometime soon perhaps?

I guess it was a hush hush thing..Had any of us knew, I'm sure we would've turned up!
Great snaps though! How was it round the track?
Don't think it was a saywell day i just popped over to see GTWayne , surprised to see that lot over there, didn't even have the camera

Good set of photo's!
Obviously Peter S was there with his new Lambo and Zonda (one of a kind and it's Zonda PS...)- I would say not an official Saywell charity day, but no doubt he was stretching their legs at bit!
My company does work for him and I had a good look around his new Zonda at Le Mans - WHAT A MACHINE!
I think from memory his next charity day is mid October, but I'll have a chat with his SIL when he gets back of his holiday and post dates back if anybody is interested.......having been, all I can say is it's a bloody good day.
As a matter of interest, I was once told by a trusted source that Mr Bean doesn't actually own/has never owned an F1 which makes me think what's going on here

It appears the day was hidden away on the Mithril racing website!

Round the track - just awesome

Am probably going to book myself in for a half day track day at Brands if anyone fancies coming along? There is one on 26th Aug but think that is too soon to get time off work. They run a day (or morning/evening) for people who haven't been on a track before. Any takers....? Next date 10th Sept.
I am absolutely kicking myself I didn't get out there today! It was really quiet & I realised too late I could have gone round in the afternoon! Hey ho, being a passenger was still immense fun

Yep no problem.
The Zonda and the Murcie were way too loud, so wouldn't exactly have been stretching their legs on track. It was a 95db day so very restrictive.
The next Saywell track day isn't the middle of October.
Rowan Atkinson has a long history with that McLaren.
I would agree the Zonda may be too loud but his previous has been on the track and I thought the same may have happened. The Zonda and the Murcie were way too loud, so wouldn't exactly have been stretching their legs on track. It was a 95db day so very restrictive.

His previous lambo was always on the track, this one will be too I'm sure.
The next Saywell day is actually 3rd October according to the Goodwood site, so I was wrong by a week or two..
Mr Bean has been associated with that car, I was just told he didn't own it - not sure who to believe?
Not all wrong then

Honestly, if someone thinks the only track days Peter does at Goodwood are his 'official' (mentioned on website) ones, then don't even bother listening

The car that really struggles with noise is the Koenigsegg, which is rarely allowed on track as it so loud it just can't get anywhere near even the highest levels allowed.
From 'the horses mouth' as they say....
The new Lambo SV was too loud for the 95db day and he is thinking of having a new exhaust fitted to allow use at lower level track days, although as is it is likely to be OK as is for louder days.
The Zonda won't get below as it's a specialised titanium exhaust and he won't fiddle with it.
The DTM (not pictured) broke and didn't go around the track.
