Help me choose a new MMORPG
Discussion
I am having that itch again...
I used to play WoW avidly. Level 60 Druid full T2 and a 70 Rogue also with s
t hot raiding gear.
I am looking for something to fill that void now. Not WoW though as I don't want to go back to that and I want a 'new world' so to speak.
I have looked at Warhammer Online and LOTRO, what would you guys suggest?

Yea i played WoW a bit, but the PvP wasn't anywhere near as good. DaoC had stat caps, so whilst gear as important, there wasn't the situation where the 12 year old kid who plays 65 million hours a day and has the sword of a thousand truths 1 shots you with 'pure talent'.
That is true... arenas is where the skill really came into it mind.It was fun 1 shotting noobs with the rogue in AV when I was dagger spec though

10,000 years in the future IIRC... Set in space, way more complicated than WOW etc but well worth it when you get into it. Much more 'adult' (no I don't mean space sex) as when you die you don't go to a graveyard with all your stuff intact.. If you lose a ship you lose all fixtures fittings and the ship, along with some of your skills you've learnt unless you have an up to date clone... Complicated, as I said, but well rewarding IMO.
If you send me your email address I can give you a 21 day free trial (on the website it is 14 days).

Stop arsing about in the past! Go EVE Online!
I thought that was in the past?! Go on...The market is almost completely player run - some items are seeded but most are manufactured by players.
You can do pretty much anything you like within the game - if the game mechanics allow it, you can do it (with one or two exceptions), but this means you can scam people, cheat, lie, kill, pirate, whoever you like with the only comeback being if the have more powerful friends than you.
Things that happen are permanent - if your ship blows up then it is gone for good. So is the stuff that was in it, unless you happen to be able to get to the wreck before anyone steals it.
You don't have to do PvP all the time as there are plenty of other things to do, mining, mission running, manufacturing, trading etc.
It also looks pretty cool - this is all in game footage.
Or if not Conan how about champions online, It's a build your own superhero mmo, like eve it's all going to be on one server, goes live on the 1st of sept but the open beta begins on the 17th.
very exited about this.
