Short notice city break - Friday 14th to Sunday 16th? Ideas?

Well, I despise using lastminute.ste, so don't really want to use tehm.

Need a city break from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th. Live in Leeds but will leave from Liverpool, Manchest, Newcastle, East Midlands or any London airport.

Any clues as to best site to find real breaks that exist - rather than deals that don't exist to fool you into the site?

Ignore the package deals/sites.
1. Shortlist where you want to go
2. Work out where on the short list you can get to reasonably (cost / time) look at the full-service airlines as well as the cheapies.
3. Find places to stay on the shortlist - I tend to use www.booking.com
4. Book it

Destination is any of the 'usual' - Barcelona, ROme, Paris, Madrid etc.

Just looking for an alternative to lastcrap.com, as I cannot abide using them.

Exactly what I was going to say.
Berlin, Budapest and Krakow are worth sticking on the list if they aren't already there.
Hungary is meant to be cheap at the moment as their currency has tanked even more than ours.
