Why or why everytime that Fiat Stilo ad comes on – you know the one – the one where there's three trendy ad director-type male twats who don't smile, wear beige suits cos nobody does, and have trendy letterbox glasses, skulk about for five minutes in a bloody Fiat I ask you, playing with the electrics, like we all know Italian electrics will break in five minutes – yes I had a Moto Guzzi – and then to bring the 'OK right on PC' crowd on board, we find the girl in the ad is driving – yeah right – (actually with those three 'hotel-motel' type twats it's not surprising) and then to inflame the PC brigade, (or to try and prove that Fiat really are that trendy) we have a lovely blonde cruise by on the pavement and one guys looks – then cut to the starter button being pressed.

Why or why everytime that Fiat Stilo ad comes on – do I want the bastard to just click – or the lights on the dashboard to dim as the idiots think, huh?. My mum had a Fiat 128 once and that bastard wouldn't start so why does there's? Phone your dealer now – I'd rather cut me throat.

Time to get on with some work now.

Mikey nooo ! I feeel just like you do ! Except that I am unable to put it in those words. This add is simply anti-PetrolHead. If you like switches and button then buy something else than a car! - mind you, could we call a Fiat Stilo a car? Hmmmm

okay, I'll shut up and go back to work !

Ta!

We have the same stupid ad here in Hungary! Another ad we do have which I approve of is for tyres. This guy stands next to his car and by magic makes the straight road really twisty. The good bit is the car, we don't see much of it but it appears to be a Cerbera.

That's one hell of a long sentence!

I agree though.

...and while we're at it, what about the ad for a bloody Toyota Corolla where the girl gets p*ssed off because the bloke who's asked her round to his place for 'coffee' doesn't own it?

I mean! Believable? Not.

What surprises me being a Fiat nothing broke or fell off during the making of the ad

I also hate the Toyota Ad - You may love it too much
- If you do you are one Sad

Or the Fiesta ad where there is a bum shape on the wall where people have been looking at it.. Does that mean it broke down years ago and hasn't moved since ??

Who in their right mind would stop and stare at the Fiesta/Ka thing

Yeah, that Toyota one is unbelievable, do they think we are all THAT stupid to be taken in by that ... haha and that Corsa one where 'you might need the traction control' would you b*ll*cks – it's a bloody 1.4 for god's sake. That white tranny van would probably pi55 all over it! (Especially if it's like the ones we get round 'ere – tools clanking about in the back – doors nearly hanging off – rolled up 'Sun' upside down on the dashboard – three sweaty herberts feet up on the dash fagging it, drinking lucozade sport and staring at all the women (and they;'re just the nice ones)

And that bloody Peugeot one where the women's having a bloody baby – for christ's sake – what's it all about? Selling a *lifestyle* that's what its all about. And some women in a classroom going on about 'I know , I've been there' ......????

Yeah OK, maybe the subtleties are beyond my 39-year-old male brain but I ask you ...

Crikey, better get meself a Zafira and play safe ...

What's interesting about all these ads is that the women are having more fun than the men and, except perhaps in the case of the Fiat ad, at men's expense. Most car ads -- or even ads of a more general nature --are either like that or are heading that way. What is that supposed to be about?

It takes society's view of 'women as the new men' to the nth degree – ie they're the decision makers now – they choose the holidays, the furnishings, so why not let them choose the car too ... so it puts some successful women that viewers/listeners aspire to be and there you go.

I think, look, I'll let me wife choose where we go on holiday – that's OK, she used to work in the travel industry – she can choose the cooker – she's an ace cook and I wouldn't tell her what to do, but the day she says "I think we should get this car' – that's the day I throw meself off the bridge ...

She leaves those decisions to me cos I have thr experience/knowledge/wherewithall, (and interest) to make them.

OK, male pigheadedness probably, but IMO, women eant a man capable of making a decision, not these tree-hugging, cornish pastie shoe wearing loonies who always say 'well darling, I don't know, what do you think ...?'
