Make sure that you top up with the correct oil. I have been told that the oil for the limited slip diff is different to that for standard diffs. I think all V8's had the LSD but it was an option on other S series cars. There has been post on here telling you how to tell if you have a LSD if youre not sure.
I've just put an lsd in mine, so have a spare non lsd diff, for not alot of money, £35 +carriage, say £30,or would meet anywhere between Bath and Brecon, if you should need it.
Can advise on fitting too, if required.
Not too difficult a job, provided you have a trolley jack and some big spanners.
Don't mix lsd oil with non lsd oil; it goes solid apparently.

Hi Jaye
the old shape Granada 24v and the original 3 door Cossy have an LSD (viscous)that fits (just change the whole diff as it is the same ratio 3.64:1) but any lsd for the ford 7 1/2" diff will be ok
- quaife - plate etc. but these are much mere expensive
Can I pick your brains a little more on LSD's please ?the old shape Granada 24v and the original 3 door Cossy have an LSD (viscous)that fits (just change the whole diff as it is the same ratio 3.64:1) but any lsd for the ford 7 1/2" diff will be ok

Been looking on Ebay and they seem to come in 7 or 7 half inch and flanged or push in shafts ?
So is the & half inch flanged unit the one to go for or does the 7 inch fit?
One more question, were Sierra XR4x4 fitted with LSD and would that one be any good and finally some seem to be 3.62 (original 3.64)but can't see that making a huge difference even to speedo reading ?
Any advice gratefully recieved.
