Hi all,

My car has just recieved some love from Komo-tec in Germany, and now running engine Motul 300v (15W-50 version) oil.

Seems to be running with reduce sowing machine sounds at tick over, and really seems to like it.

Interesting, might have to try that. Thanks for the advice, I've got a service due in 1,000 miles so will try to get it topped up with the 15W50.

Noticed Camskill also sell it. But sure specialist could get at trade price. Defently worth it IMO, for the extra money. Seems to run much better than the Selina Racing Oil used by my local Lotus Garage.

I'm going to take it to a local specialist this time rather than the main dealer so I'll speak to them about it in advance. They should be able to get it at trade, like you say. Would welcome a nicer tick-over...

Camskill seemed to be pretty cheap, and led to believe that Motul is a different league compared to Mobil 1 alough I am not sure how true that is.

Just your local motor factors if they dont have in your can be assured it will be far cheaper than Halfords - Sorry Gooby...

My local moor factors do not do anything as "exotic" as mobil one. It is just cheap oils for servicing renaults...

I have no idea on the comparison of motul to mobil but with a regular oil change it really wouldnt matter.

If anyone wants *special* oils at a decent price, check out Opie Oils. Oilman on SELOC often does good deals if you're prepared to buy a decent amount.

Motul is the only oil that we use in all of the track-club cars and we supply a lot of the Elise Trophy race cars. If you are a Lotus On Track member you get 25% off the retail price of all Motul fluids from track-club. We use to sell a few different brands of oil, now we only do Motul.

Drop an e-mail to info@track-club.com and Stephen will sort this out. Their brake fluid and gear oil is also very good. I'm not sure that I'd go with the 15w50 in the Toyota cars to be honest, 5w40 or 10w40 is usually fine, the 15w50 is great in the k series and if anyone wants to be really nice to their engine and does a lot of long hardcore journeys or track days they do a Le Mans spec 20w60........
