Boxing Day Racing

Mallory Park open on Friday

Mallory Park’s traditional ‘Plum Pudding’ race meeting on Boxing Day (Friday), will give both motorcycle and car racing enthusiasts a chance of seeing some of their favourite sport over the Christmas break.

This is the country’s only circuit racing event over the holiday season, with races for both solo and sidecar motorcycles, together with sports and single seater racing cars – as well as the competitor’s fancy dress competition!

There will be around 18 races for a variety of motorbikes, with 125, 250, 400, 600, 1300 and singles, together with the ‘Plum Pudding Handicap’ open to any solo bike from 125 to 1300cc. If the handicappers get their sums right, all the competitors should cross the line together – it hasn’t happened yet, but it’s been pretty close!

Four wheel fans can see two races for Caterham sports cars and two for Monoposto single seaters - both classes are renowned for providing action packed racing.

First race of the day on Boxing Day will start at 11.00am, with practice from 9.30am. Adult admission is £10, with no charge for accompanied children (under 16). Mallory Park is off the A47, between Leicester and Hinckley. Further details from 01455 842931 or www.mallorypark.co.uk
