Squeeky Shock?

Hi Guys

Ive had my new Gaz golds on for a couple of months now and recently the front left shock has started squeeking. It does it on bumpy roads, Ive changed the settings to fully soft and it stops but when I set it back up to 6 or 7 clicks it starts squeeky again. Any idea why this is? Is there a problem with the shock? The others are all fine and its very very annoying.

I still have a squeaky rear Gaz Gold but Dulford says they will exchange it for another at some point.

Is it a quality control issue or just a nature of the part?

Same here - after 2 years and two European trips I now have four squeaky Gaz Golds! And two weeks out of warranty too. Bugger

I had a squeaky one (Gaz Gold Prof) recently, no amount of playing around would resolve it. Two were therefore sent back and replaced, and I understand that the replacements have a different bush/seal material (?) or something like that. I assume this is a permanent fix now, but it's interesting that my other two may start squeaking in the future.......

Cheers Derrick cars sorted now and setting the back up slightly softer has really improved the grip even more. Looks like I will be going through a set of tyres even quicker now.

Mine squeak too, they were really bad to begin with but have got better with use. THey tend to squeak if I've left her for a while, but a quick blast normally sorts it out.

Same here. About 1.5 years of use or so and the front is very squeaky.

I too have a squueky rear shock on the nearside, it has been driving me mad, been on there about 12 months now.

If you've got squeaky Gaz Golds from Derek at Ab Shocks, I heartily recommend just giving him a call. I did that last week; he knows what the problem is, and how to sort it out. Exactly what you want in terms of after service.

Bizarre! Two years ago the problem of squeaky Gaz shocks was resolved. So it must be something else

Hopefully problem resolved.

My GAZ golds have always squeeked for the last 12 months or so...

Took the advice from others and spoke to Derek from Abshocks who I purchased them through.

Sitting here at work, next to me 2 X GAZ Gold Pro replacements to fit this weekend.

I will be checking mine tomorrow so will post findings.

Whilst its good to have good customer service.... would you want the initial product being that faulty in the first place?

I shall report my findings on Monday

I have the same problem on my rears - Golds, about 6 months old. I've tried to call Derek today and left a message. If they need to be replaced do they pay for the removal and fitting?

Saying that, they have got better as time goes on.

Firstly, i would say I'm a reaosnable person, however, I'm sorry to say I think everyone here is being far too reasonable in this instance.

My shocks like the others have a very annoying squeak which is simply not acceptable after such an outlay and professional fitting. I have learnt to live with it, but shouldn't have to.

Its all very well GAZ holding their hands up to a lack of R&D, but who's going to pay for the inconvenience and costs to rectify something that shouldn't happen in the first place ?

I had mine fitted by AB Shocks. I had no call backs from the numerous messages i left and no offer of replacement. Who is going to pay for the time off, inconvenience, re-fitting costs, costs of re-alignment etc and a period without the car?

Sorry - not acceptable GAZ or AB Shocks !!
