Coudl anyone enlighten me on what this looks like( handbrake switch), part number or vehicle make and model so I can get one. Its completely missing on my car and I think I have just one wire going to the swithc but haven't looked properly under the tranny tunnel trim.

Thanks

Mike

TVR Car Parts list a brake light switch, it looks similar to the handbrake one but does not look like it has the screw holes. Follow link to see - TVR Car Parts-Brake Light Switch

Alternatively, use a courtesy light style switch, as it only needs to make or break when the handbrake is operated.

Mine is idential to the one pictured above, and it does work OK, despite the fact that the fit looks a real bodge, as the two self tapping screws are just screwed directly into the fibreglass.
The plunger IIRC just lines up with the metal edge of the pressed steel assembly, very typically TVR, but then again you could argue that its fit for purpose, mine has been working OK for 16 years.

Wouldn't surprise me if holes were drilled by TVR, shouldn't be difficult to make some sort of little bracket and mount "properly" by the threaded bit ?

I think your right, it was obviously intended to be mounted through a bracket hence the threaded section for adjustment. A simple 90 deg bracket with a hole and 2 locknuts would be ok to mount the pedal switch on if you didnt want to drill it.
