Chaps,

Can you recommend which company provides the BEST holiday insurance...

Daddy - 39 years old
Mummy - 33 years old
Son - 6 years old
Daughter - 3 years old

Mummy and Daddy is in a perfectly good health.

Tesco Insurance offers free kids insurance - £32.00 for 8 days holiday for 4 people!

Cheers

Have a look at moneysupermarket.com, you should be able to buy a yearly policy for not much more money. only thing to look for is the level of cover and excesses

Get something underwritten by AXA. My mate had to use his when we were in Argentina last year, and it was me dealing with them as he was out the game. Sorted us out with a hospital quickly, and apart from some chimpery with the local office pretending they didn't want to pay they were fine. I just phoned up the American office and got them to boot some arses and someone was round with the company credit card in less than an hour.

AXA are usually a pain for hospitals to deal with (I know, taking money off insurers for a hospital is part of my day job), but as a patient experience they are very good.

One of my staff is away on hol next month and found cheap AXA policies from a place called essential travel. Don't go for their cheapest policy though, as it doesn't have baggage/valuable cover.

Matt..

Are policies from the post office any good?

Just one thing to mention, we spent quite a few years using Sainsbury's travel insurance for the family - £130 for a year I think! However, we recently discovered that we had comprehensive travel insurance with our bank (Coutts). As such, worth checking to ensure you're not already covered by your bank.

Check the policy excesses and the level of cover for medical and accidents and you should be fine. The AXA idea is a good shout too, but banks do have some good options as part of their pay-per-month current accounts so it's worth a look at what your bank(s) can offer.

Pretty similar to me, I'm with Northern Bank and they were offering travel insurance and a international lounge pass for me and the family for £180 per year I think.

Some of the bank cover is gash, so check what they cover carefully. My Egg card has cover, but it's a joke.
Suspect Coutts may be somewhat more all encompassing though...
