Excuse the stupid question, my nephew wants a DS for his birthday, do i get the normal DS or the DS lite? Do the games work in either or is there different games for each model? He will be 8 years old. Thanks in advance!

I'd get a DS Light, although to confuse you further, there is now a DSi available that comes with a camera and an additional memory card port.

Any DS will play any DS cartridge, although you can download games now for the DSi that will only work on that model.

yup, DS lite, the older 'fat' DS aint much different, but is quite a lot bigger.

plus the light comes in some cool funky colours and is smaller, sleaker and fits your hands a lot better.

the DSI, although is an Improved DS (where the I comes from and DS means Developer Console) I personally think the camara is a bit of a gimmick.

you buy a games consol to play games not to take silly pictures of people and change there face a bit, I have a camera and phone to take pictures.

Make sure he knows how to insert the game cards as our bouy jammed it in the wrong way and has bu66ered up his one week old DS. £40 to fix!

Ah well, he can still use the PictoChat hehe
