Change in browsing 'back' functionality?

Previously, once I'd finished reading a thread that I'd entered by clicking on the title in the 'What's New' view I would click my browser 'back' button and return to the same position in the 'What's New' list of threads.
Just recently it has been returning me to the top of the list of threads in 'What's New' - not the end of the world, but midly irritating given how it used to work.
Is this down to the browser my end (IE 8.0.6001.18702) or a change in forum functionality?

Currently it is consistent, though as you say it could be down to the ad serving - at present I'm not seeing a banner at the top of 'What's New' (if there ever was one).Mr Will said:
There should be one once it has (eventually) finished loading. The skip down to the point you were at on the page will not happen until everything has loaded, so if the ads are being very slow or failing completely then that would explain it.
Looks like this is what is happening: the 'What's New' view takes a long time to finish loading (waiting for ...) but finally completes without a banner ad served at the top of the page (presumably a timeout waiting on the ad server).
Some more information. It does eventually re-jig the page to show the link that was clicked in the 'What's New' view, but there is a delay of about 20 seconds.
It clearly looks as though it is trying to load some other content or an advert before giving up and finishing the rendering of the page.

It'll be the advert. We recently changed adservers and the performance is not yet up to what we hoped (should be soon though).It clearly looks as though it is trying to load some other content or an advert before giving up and finishing the rendering of the page.
The main advantage at the moment is that the ads are now the last thing to load, so no more hanging on the 5th post waiting for the ad to load before you can read the thread.
