They're all Type I these days. Type II are microdrives (tiny hard disks), haven't seen one of those for years. Most people opt for either Sandisk or Lexar and my preferred source is MyMemory

Indeedy. By a CF card biggrin

On a more serious note, don't buy Happy Shopper 1x ste cards, get a decent brand and decent speed.

No experience but, in these days of very cheap memory, it seems to me an economy not worth making. You can buy a decent 4Gb Sandisk card for only a few quid more than that adapter costs. Do you have a lot of very good quality SD cards?

I'm interested in these adapters too, but not for that reason. My laptop takes SD cards directly, my camera uses CF.
If there's no performance loss I may try one...

My laptop does the same, shouldn't be any major performance hit.

Although check on your laptop for >2gig cards - can you use 4gig SDHC cards in there? Mine is winding me up, it takes MSDP and SD cards, but doesn't take anything over 2gig.

There were a couple of Type I microdrives and the odd Type II flash card as well.

The only difference between Type I/II is the thickness. Type I are 3.3mm, Type II are 5mm...
