Adverts opening in their own tab in Firefox

Apologies if this has already been covered elsewhere.

Sometimes when i'm browsing around the forum I click on a thread and Firefox opens a new tab for me - the thread stays in the original tab and the advert contained inside that thread is the sole content of the newly-opened tab.

It doesn't do it every time but it does happen 2 or 3 times a day.

I'm running FF version 3.0.12 on Windows Vista Home Premium. FF has no script running if that makes any difference.

Obviously not a huge annoyance but I thought i'd mention it anyway incase there is an easy fix.

Load up the Adblock Plus Add on and you will never have to worry about adverts or pop ups ever again.

But then pistonheads will lose even more revenue. Haymarket will realise this, and sell the site to some up-coming chinese businessman, who will use to it advertise their western-mirrored cars...

Once the western-mirrored cars have got enough press and national coverage via this website, their sales will increase and they can invest more into pistonheads.
Pistonheads will continue to grow, until it becomes the de facto motoring website - even making Top Gear look like 5th Gear!

Haymarket will see this, and offer to buy back the website. The now rich and powerful chinese businessman will sell the site at a higher cost, causing haymarket to lose even more revenue - but gain a greater audience.

The chinese business man will start his own site.
Haymarket will be forced to charge users for this site.

As members of pistonheads, we'll have become accustomed to chinese western-mirrored cars, and will freely move over onto onto the chinese businessmans website as it shall remain free.

pistonheads will be removed from the servers as a lost cause.

And us? We'll spend the rest of our lives looking at chinese wester-mirrored cars !

Why !?!

Because we blocked the bloody ads!

This is a very odd bug, when did it start happening?

Mmm, maybe the middle of last week?

I was surfing PH quite a bit yesterday and it didn't do it at all, but all the advert boxes half-way down the threads on the right were all blank too.
