I'm trying to find a location along the A23 corridor to hold a car club meet for c.40 people. We need secure parking with good access (no speed humps), a quiet area in the venue to make announcements (separate function room would be great) and a regular booking on the 2nd Wed of each month that won't be at risk of being cancelled by the venue.

The internet is a good research tool, but getting out there and visiting each location is important as we've found that often the venues are 'misrepresented' on the web and don't have the facilities promised. Also their idea of good parking is a little different to mine when I can't get my 911 over the speed humps on the way in!

So I thought I'd throw it open to the PH masses for some feedback. Anyone attend any car club meets in the Crawley -Burgess Hill - Horsham type areas? Can you recommend a location? Can you tell me any to avoid like the plague!

Thanks folks.

Rachel

I don't know how it is distance wise but it maybe up your street. Parking wise they have enough space to satisfy a small impromptu PH meet over 50+ cars easily in my opinion.

That's not at Gatwick!
That's stretching the truth a little.

Off topic; is that place any good for a drink and/or snack? That's on one of 'our' wink routes. smile

The Stage in Bolney (pretty village just off A23) certainly used to be well known for various car meets.

Maybe the Gatwick Manor ?

I haven't been there for years, too posh for me,
but some might find it a reasonable Chef & Brewer.

I'd agree with that. Have been there when the Fezza owners, MG Owners, Honda NSX and VW Owners clubs have held meets there (sounds like I live there hehe)

BTW, the full rack of ribs is lick

I'm going up there tonight to talk to the Ferrari club (and drool over the Fezzas). Of course it would be rude not to try the food at the same time!

I've also heard that Katie Price frequents the place as her horse trainer is just down the road. Not sure if I should present that to our club members as a selling point or not!

Hmm scratchchin Been on holiday for a week so the Cerb could do with a run out. I did the same thing at the same venue last year (by chance though) and they didnt look too approving of my noisy plastic car. Worth another wind up and a I fancy a half of shandy too smile

Might see you there smile

We're aiming to get there for about 7.00/7.30 p.m. Mine's the blue 911, I'll probably spot the Cerb if you're there!

Was hoping to bring my car mad son, but just remembered he is 'Walking with Dinosaurs' at the O2 this afternoon, not sure what time he's back. If you see the Cerb outside and a 'cuddly' bloke walking round the car park haplessly then come and say hello smile
