I have had a minor hiccup which has left me needed a new throttle pot and a "new" ECU.

Anyone got any ideas where i might get hold of a replacement/refurbed one for a 4.5 ltr Chim? ID numbers are AMR2175 14CUX, rover number 80405A.

(yes, i've looked on PH classified and flea bay)

Thanks in advance chaps smile

Thanks Phil.
The guys at Racing Green have been brilliant, and have lent me one for the time being... which gets me out of the immediate fix i had, as i have signed up for a charity day at Brunters this weekend.

Now... ECU, ECU where are you?

Dave,

Ooops.

I've used Sunbury Salvage in the past (albeit many years ago) for parts and they do know their stuff.

J & C Motor Spares (Sunbury Salvage) phone 01932 788200
Address: Fordbridge Rd, Sunbury-on-Thames, TW16 6AX.

Or with a bit of judicious part number googling;

http://www.middlesextuningcentre.co.uk/ecu-tvr.htm seemingly in stock and £265.

http://www.atpelectronics.co.uk/Catalogue/rover.ht... - look down the list for MG RV8

Fill yer boots.

HTH.

Cheers,

eek How the heck did you manage that - you sure you haven't got any wiring loom problems to sort before the 'new' one goes the same way?

I'd be concerned about whether there's an intermittent wiring problem causing that. At least check the engine loom for damage, it would be a heck of a shame to fork out for repairs and then do the same again.

Did the throttle pot die at the same time?

Just thinking that if it was burnt out then there may be a short to 12v on one of its leads.

Can I be cheeky and suggest spending loads of money with chuckles, and getting some bigger injectors, then Ryan could map it properly?

No, I'll get my coat...

I did have a word with Sir Charles of Surrey. And whilst is sounds like a corking idea, it is just a "tad" more expensive than a replacement ECU. So for that reason, with regret, "ahm oot".

And i'll put that money towards a Tuscan hehe
