So, I am away in Frankfurt on business. Can anyone recommend a decent bar near Frankfurter Platz?

Danke!

And I thought it might be someone useful replying! Have found a couple of quite decent places near the opera house, and have drinks sorted tomorrow.

Can't help feeling a little like Colin Farrell in "In Bruges" however!

MacGowan's Irish bar on Zeil (by Konstablerwache S-Bahn station and then walk away from the centre of town for a couple of hundred metres) used to be a good place for a friendly pint (I was last there about 4 years ago though, so it could have changed since) http://www.macgowans.de

Apparently the lapdancers are much better in Frankfurt than they are in Stuttgart.
Or was it the other way around? whistle

Can't help with names of bars though sorry.

Lapdancers - Frankfurt>Stuttgart

We didn't visit any 'normal' bars, so can't comment! lol

I lived there for several years and my favourite bar in town is the Bitburger at the bottom of Hochstrasse, near the Opernplatz. If it's sunny, the Eppsteiner Eck on Eppsteiner Strasse is good. In Sachsenhausen, there is a great basement Irish bar called An Sibin. Don't, whatever you do, go to any of the "English pubs" or the awful Irish pub near the station.

Went to theBitburger last night.

Flying back today, but will check out the lapdancing joints when I am back next month.

Lots of seriously nice cars out here as well!
