Double Sleeping Bags - heaven or hell ?
Discussion
hell
at festivals mrs envy wears eleventy layers plus woolly hat, gloves and scarf at night which she then slowly takes off during the night as her cold blood warms up
it would ruin my alcohol induced festival coma sleep with her wriggling inside my sleeping bag whilst she does so
bear in mind, all that separates you from the guys in the next tent is 4 layers of very thin nylon so they'd be able to hear any kind of fart...

Sure, infinitely better for getting jiggy than two single ones, obviously.
But still not exactly the height of comfort or romance. Plus they're significantly colder than a single, and, as has been noted, unless you're in the middle of nowhere it's very obvious to everybody around you exactly what you're doing. Which may or may not be your aim
FWIW, the wife and I use one when we're camping but I can't say it's a great passion-inducer.

I'm with Roger - airbed (we've got two singles that zip together to form a double) and a couple of summer sleeping bags
I rarely zip it up all the way but use it more like a duvet in the summer
Bloody hell, sounds like you and Mrs Envy are quite the happy campers? how many times do you use a sleeping bag, I have not for about a year now!I rarely zip it up all the way but use it more like a duvet in the summer

well I do Le Mans every year and we do a few festivals every summer so you get to learn the tricks pretty quickly
ps - always take a gazebo with you, it shades the tent in the mornings so you don't wake up at 7am in a sauna and it keeps the rain off during the night
Fair enough, a tent over a tent sounds like a good idea too!ps - always take a gazebo with you, it shades the tent in the mornings so you don't wake up at 7am in a sauna and it keeps the rain off during the night
'Ms Cupra' would stay a hotel and leave me to camp! She won't... So disapointing as I think she misses out on the atmosphere and fun that goes on at events!!!
I've two sleeping bags which zip togther for a double or just use the one.. Depends on where I'm going and what for? If i'm hiking then I just take one, if it's in the car for a festival or something similar like Lemans I'll take both! (and maybe a duvet as well)
I sleep through nearly anything(alcohol induced coma usually) so she can do what she want's!
