E-mail Problems, I think!
Discussion
Over the last couple of days friends have tried replying to my mails, these have been returned to the senders as undelivered.
I'm getting my usual mails coming through from P/H, ads and via my profile link etc.
It's just individuals replying to me, that seems to be a problem.
I’ve just sent a test mail to myself, and that goes off and comes back instantly.
So any suggestions as to what's going on?
TIA

Hi,
Sent off 3 test emails to you from varying networks.
Let me know if you get all 3.
If you do, it would indicate that your mail Seems to be fine, as the 3 boxes are located on 3 different networks.
Given your on a BT address, I find it hard to believe that the mail config itself would be b0rked.
Maybe its just your friends email systems :|
If you could get hold of one of their undeliverable messages, that would be aof great use.

I've had some intermittent problems with an ISP that put some rubbish anti-spam filter in place earlier this year.
At one stage e-mails from the BBC were being rejected as being spam and various other sources, which is most annoying. I mean to say - from the BBC, Dahhhhhhhhling!
I can't remember - :screech of brakes as he pulls to a halt and consults the archives: - yes I can remember what it is:
The "Real-time black hole list" and my ISP said Unfortunately, sender mail server is listed on Real-time black hole
list, which means their mail server is an open relay (open to
spammers). This list is used to control spam (junk mail) from mail
server, which are open.
As long as their IP address is listed in RBL, mail cannot be delivered
to our servers, they need to get them self out of that RBL list.

beano, RBL is just a list of 'norty ips' from people considered to be spamming.
might find someone at the BBC was sending out mailshots, and some of the ppl that recieved them took offence to them..
Could also be spammers spoofing ips/hosts in order to fcsk the BBC over, or just as their the first name that came to their mind.
You could ask your ISP to whitelist the BBC.. or complain to the BBC techies that their RBL blocked, and ask them to sort it out.
If they are still on the RBL (and wide scale, not just a small department) it will be a HUGE headache for them.
