S1 manual rack - what oil is recommended

Vauxhall Chevette haynes manual (which is what most of the S rack is) states multi purpose lithium based grease.

It says when overhauling the rack to use 50g of grease.

When I took my V8S gaiters off oil came out, though a standard chevette rack that I had did only have grease inside.

No Oil - I just stuffed my rack with Grease..

Didn't put any inside the gaitors just around the UJ's, I've never had any issues.

Aplogies for hijacking this thread, but on a similar subject does anyone know where I can get replacement gaitors, mine are starting to crack at the ends.
