London @ Night
Discussion
Went to London on a bizzare last minute decision the other night for some photos. Was surprised to see how busy it was from 1am until 6am. Sunrise over
some are in black and white as i couldnt decided which i liked best. C+C welcome

Was this an organised thing - I saw a London all-nighter publicised (flickr?) recently but couldn't make it.
Definitely better in colour. Tones offer way more to the curves of the subject, besides which, BW is fairly common for daytime shots here so it's great to see it lit differently.

Not normally a fan of zoom bursts but the comp is simple enough and there's few enough other lights to let you get away with this one IMO

Ahh yes get you now! Yeah i can see what you mean with the horizontal line on the bridge in the foreground but I had to make a choice between the bridge level or St. Pauls being on the piss so opted for St. Pauls to be level.
Thanks for the comments people

It looks to me as if St Pauls is leaning to the left, so about 1 CW would fix everything. You may think I'm being fussy but like CVP says, it's the only thing wrong, and so easy to get right. When I look at a photo I look all over it trying to find problems. If I can't, it passes
NB: If St Pauls was actially vertical and the rest of the shot not, you could get both right using Distort in Photoshop. With architecture I think it's important.
Damn, I'm sounding ike those dweebs at the RPS!

Love nighttime shots.. always wondered how you get the effect of the 2nd London Eye pic.. is it simply a case of zooming during the shot?some are in black and white as i couldnt decided which i liked best. C+C welcome
