European Christmas cheer
Discussion
Mrs MM and I are suckers for a bit of a romantic Germanic schmaltzy xmas break. Gluhwein, fantastic beer, various delicious forms of cooked pig, crappy accordian music, proper cold - what's not to like?
So far we've only done the markets in Bernkastle, Trier, and Salzburg. Can anyone recommend any other cities in Germany or Austria that are in easy hailing distance of an airport, with decent but reasonably priced accomodation, and with enough to do for two or three days in December? Is Munich worth a look f'rinstance?
I'd consider a Scandinavian option too but we're on tight budget so doubt it'll be affordable, unless you know better...?
