Just wondered if there are many pictures that anyone has taken that weren't meant to come out like they did, but were all the better for it...here are two examples of our poor photography skills, which I think paid off....

Magic lights...

Crazy sister...

I feel that I might add to this:

I'm just gutted I never got them in RAW....

They genuinely were accidental too as I was fed up, by the last two and that was the absolutely final Tube back to the hotel - the top one wasn't set up or attempted- it just happened.

Taken in a club in Ibiza, I've still no idea how the photo managed to come out like this!

Would love to know so I could recreate it sometime.

You had a slow shutter speed, and wobbled the camera downwards, hence the light trails.

The flash fired, which "froze" the faces, hance the non blurred foreground.

Google "flash & blur" and have fun practising wink

Yep - or to think of it another way, you have two light sources - ambient (which is always on), and flash which is instant. The flash only illuminates the foreground, hence the result shows a combination of both.

walking along (backwards) in spain whilst quite inebriated, eating blue ice cream. Felt it would be a good idea to put ice cream in girlfriends face. Girlfriend immediately falls over. Camera goes off at perfect moment.

Voila!
