Camera friendly home contents insurance

As per the topic really. I rent at the moment so only need home contents insurance, and the only things I'm really worried about covering is my PC and camera bits.
Does anyone have any recommendations on how to ensure these are covered on a like for like basis without costing the earth?

Tesco were fine with my D80
They did try and offer me a D60 as a replacement til I told them the differences, then they were going to get me a D90, only WHE had run out, so they sent me a cheque instead
Was all handled by 3rd party, and none of it was named
