What's the span of the opening for the doors? Are they all bi-fold/sliding folding?
What's the span inside? Is it a completely clear span?
If it is a completely clear span, what are you going to do with the soil pipe that currently
serves your upstairs bathroom? It might be possible to re-route, but it would be a PITA if
it got blocked..

It's not a simple extension out the back is it? Is that a light well to the cellar? Does it extend the complete width of the proposed extension?Seeing as I haven't a clue when it comes to building etc., any advice on potential problems would be welcome.

A store or a room that's used more often? Have you considered what the loss of natural light will do to that space, not to mention ventilation?
It looked quite simple at first, but it will take a lot longer to work out a price tbh. I'm away from Saturday, for a week, so won't be able to give this any attention until then. Needless to say the cellar will complicate things, you've got the single storey foundations to consider and now they've probably just gone about 1.8 metres deeper... If not more. There might be another solution, but it would need to be considered in a longer timeframe, to benefit all parties.
I'm not a developer btw. But we do draw up plans for extensions, for Planning and Building Control purposes, together with Structural Calcs. My father is the groundworks expert, he's currently flat out, but I can pass it on to him on my return.

Oh Christ - you've not been watching the home show have you!!!!!
You need to factor in removing everything from the house and painting it white first.
Then knock down half a wall, leave the rest to the builders and go over budget.
Sorted.

It's more about having the funds there or accessible to do the job rather than giving an actual price to carryout the works.
If you can't fund what would be a reasonable budget then you can't do the job. There's always an alternative way to complete things to keep costs down.
It's easier to save money ahead of starting on site than to find it during the works.
In this case I doubt it would cost anything significantly more to have an extension twice the size.
