I saw an Exige with a soft top and was wondering how much this conversion costs? Is it done by main dealers or independents?

DIY, most of the bits are there...need to fit rear grommets for the roof rails (about a tenner and a few mins with a dremmel)

Biggest cost is an Elise soft top.

Edited to add parts needed:

Thanks for that, I've just spoken to Bell and Colvill and its a 9 month wait from Lotus, any suggestions where I can get a second hand unit or aftermarket version?

That'll be the compulsory nine month cooling off period... So you can consider how silly it looks smile soft top exiges just don't look right IMO (imagine a spaniel without the ears!)

Check out Seloc classifieds/eBay for a s/h elise soft-top. Eliseparts/elise-shop should be able to help with the roof spars and grommits... But wud have thought B&C would be able to get those!!

It doesn't matter what it looks like - if you want roof-off motoring with the benefits of the Exige then it is well worth it - I've attacked mine with the dremel and the hard top doesn't see the car until winter smile

PS got the soft-top after placing a wanted ad on SELOC. £350 and it was basically brand new. They go on eBay as well.

There's an unused softtop for sale on Norlog in the classifieds. Going for over £500 though

Cheers Tango, mailed you back.

I'll post a picture when the jobs done, I saw one in Barcelona the other day and it looked fine. I thought it might look strange but it looked normal.

Soft Top install on an Exige link

Here's a good link with photos and instructions. I personally did my own measuring rather than follow his measurements but the grommets don't need to be in the exactly correct location - a few mm here and there is no problem.

Enjoy - I love my soft-top Exige! I think I've forgotten where I put the hard top its been so long...
