Whilst driving on the motorway the car suddenly cut out,
no drama no funny noises but refused to restart, got it towed home by the RAC,the roadside recovery thought it was the fuel pump.the car will run with a squirt of easy start and there is fuel at the injector pipe.
I have a code reader and these are the numbers it comes up with 00575 /01318 /01441/ 01282/ 01357/ 01028/ 01262/ 01318. A big list ,I am quite good on mechanicals but at
electronics I am a novice. Can anybody out their confirm a diagnosis before I buy a new pump?

I do hope its not the injection pump itself. I cant recall the code for that and it does have one that should make you shudder as they are very expensive.
Is the car standard?

The 00575 error i had was down to the N75 boost control solenoid and a replacement N75 solved that. The rest looks like a job for Tame Technician.

When the injection pump went on our Allroad, it sounded like a 50 year old diesel.
Hope it's not that as cost us a total of £3k (including cambelt, water pump, etc) even with a goodwill from Audi of £1k!

Hello
the A6 is up and running, the RAC man was spot on it was the fuel pump.
The electronics pack on top of the pump had failed and a shuttle valve had
seized.I had the pump reconditioned pump by Diesel Bob in Ribchester, £550+vat.
He is a spot on bloke with a good web site, full of good hints and tips,
he said to use brake cleaner instead of Easystart as it was much kinder to
the engine.so after alot of cranking and a squirt of brake cleaner it fired
into life
Thanks for the input
