Penalty point on licence for littering WTF
Discussion
Here we go again blame drivers for everything, and now littering, i agree you should get a fine, but getting points on your licence is just ridiculous.
but hey what can we do
......Nothing

Quote - 'Although apples are biodegradable, anti-litter campaigners say they can encourage rats'.
The fact that councils have switched to picking up rubbish every 2 weeks.........
I'm not condoning the dropping of litter, but this is yet again just another thing to criminalise and control.
fk me we won't be able to st soon without permission.

I've witnessed people throwing beer cans, Macdonalds bags etc out of their car windows and in my opinion points are the very least they deserve.Who do these people think is going to clear up after them?.
So in my opinion points at least for them and fly tippers should have their testicles removed with a rusty spoon.

And once again, unless a policeman actually sees it happen, it never did.
Completely un-inforceable.

I don't agree with endorsing a license - but I followed a 4X4 on the A3 southbound recently - sandwich box, out, fag packet, out, beer can 1 out, beer can 2 out, some tissues, out, another sandwich box, out.So in my opinion points at least for them and fly tippers should have their testicles removed with a rusty spoon.
I overtook this car with the intention of giving them some useful hand signal but spotted that it was full of very large blokes with tattoos, so drove on.

Was about to post something similar. Cycling behind ones of those Bentley looking Chryslers a few months back when one at a time, all four windows opened and fast food bags, boxes and cups were thrown into the road. Had I caught up with them (I shouted oi as load as I could, I didn't want to be swearing near my Dad's house) i'd have had no problem removing the drivers keys and lobbing them. If I had a camera fitted to the bike or myself I'd have taken his keys to the police station. So in my opinion points at least for them and fly tippers should have their testicles removed with a rusty spoon.
There are cases when points should be put on a license . Another driver trying to dodge 4 fast food bags could cause an accident.
I ------- hate people that can't keep rubbish in their cars until they can get to a bin.
yes I think we all agree the amount of litter on the streets in the UK needs something to be done about... just look at our European cousins for clean streets (in general)!
BUT the Europeans do employ people whose job it is is to make sure the streets, verges, villages are clear of rubbish because as a community they care about their country......
but back on topic points for littering... absolutely crazy..... will you need a pedestrian licence soon which will have a points system too for running too fast, dropping litter, J walking etc etc etc

"It argues that as it is difficult to identify who has actually thrown the litter, all the blame should fall on the car owner."
"The owner should be responsible for the actions of those inside the car,"
So basically if someone decides to throw something out of a car the driver gets punished, bks total st why should the driver be punished - oh wait because its easier than finding out who actually did do it, and without the person who did it owning up to it there is no way of contesting so you are going to get nailed. More unenforceable garbage from a government on its ae, as stated above more attempts to criminalise and control.
I'd say I could never see this happening but these days, I'm not so sure it wouldn't

bunch of meddling s !
regularly chuck stuff out of the window, but apple cores and banana skins in the countryside where they biodegrade, ie not in the towns
chewing gum most other places as it gets driven over and soon gets broken down
plastics and cans get chucked in the passenger footwell to be cleared once a month or so

I don't agree with points for littering. Big fine yes but no points.

I think it's entirely right and reasonable that people who throw litter from moving cars are given penalty points.
There is no justification whatsoever for disposing of your rubbish in that way and, in reality, since when did it become safe to throw things from a moving vehicle?
I don't disagree, but surely they should be able to use existing dangerous driving laws to cover that? There is no justification whatsoever for disposing of your rubbish in that way and, in reality, since when did it become safe to throw things from a moving vehicle?

An endorsable absolute offence specifically for littering sounds like a pretty good idea to me.
