Ok so it's that time of year again when I shop around for a good quote to insure my S2 Elise but before I go head to head with the task has anybody out there got any ideas on who they think would be good to try.I have eight years ncb,I'm 44 and as all ready said the car is a 2002 Elise S2 Type 25 with a ITG Maxogen induction kit fitted as a mod.

Depends on your motor, if it's got any mods then go to a specialist, mine is with CCI, £520, 36 fncd for my s2111s

CCI.

£540 for an S1 with 2.3L Duratec fitted. £250xs and 5 trackdays/yr included for free. I'm limited to 5K a year, 33 years old with 6 years NCD but 2 minor claims in the last 2 years.

I went with Henderson Taylor. I was formerly with Adrian Flux but they refused to even quote me on my 111R, despite being an existing customer with 5 yrs NCD. I'll never be back with them. HT charge me less on the Elise than Flux did on a Civic Type-R. Ask for Matthew at HT - great guy.

Hi Madprof, your car and profile sounds very similar to mine.

Always been with AON through Lotus Esteem.

Rang around alot over the last couple of weeks, no one could touch Richard Eggar who quoted £332, this was £50-100 less than other specialists.

I ended up back with AON, they did an excellent deal to keep me with £277, again very good customer service.

I would definitely recommend giving Richard Eggar a call, Mary & Steve were very friendly and helpful. I couldn't fault them even when I decided not to take up the policy, they rang me and left messages to give me my money back! (Some previous insurance companies I know 'forget' to give refund until you hassle them).

They will definitely be my first port of call at next renewal if AON can't match this years deal.

Regards Neil
Note: Quotes based on old git, 12years no claims, 3 points, 5000miles SDP&Commuting, £250 excess, low risk area, garaged, sports exhaust, uprated brakes
