Apart from the little score by your Gamertag is there any point to pursuing the Gamer Achievement?

I see videos on X-Box live showing you how to get the hard ones but what really is the point?

I have to admit I was quite proud when I finally got all of the acheivements on Colin Mcrae Dirt last week but then dissapointed that I didn't get anything alse for completeing everything in the game and getting all the achievements.

Anyway does anyone actually bother trying to get them?

PS: Battlefeild 1943 out tomorrow! WOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

It's basically about e-penis size.

It also adds much more replayability(?) to a game.

Plus there something addictive about them.

I like getting achievements, it prolongs games and gives you something to aim for.

That and it makes you feel all warm inside. hehe

I might have a bit under 14000 gamerscore

I have just gone over 6000 points. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

never gave them a thought. if i'm enjoying a game like COD WAW which I am at the moment I would rather play online and enjoy that than try for all the points a game has to offer

I got all in TF2, beacause they are actually hard and fun.

I never bother with crap like shooting the pigeons in GTA.

My gamer score is a pthetic 840 or somethign similar.

But thats cos i only play COD4.

But i do like completing the challeneges on that - although some of them are ridiculously hard.

I'd rather play online and just enjoy the game but sometimes I'll work through a game.

I think that it gives something to aim towards to let you know you have completed the game. Done everything it has to offer.

I currently need 3 more achievements in Colin McRae Dirt. I'll be satisfied when I complete it. I know I have done everything.

They are just addictive I suppose and I like the way they roll into one universal number.

Can be ruined by the 'easy' or kids games gaving un-realistic numbers. Simpsons game you got an achievement for pressing'start' at the title screen for example.

BF 1943 is an update of classic BF 1942 but using the BF Bad company engine, meant to be the most modern/best looking/most complete game on X-Box live to date.

Released today for 1200ms points or £10 on PS3 network.

Basically 24 player online Pacific maps from BF 1942. Also apparently another map is released when all the players combined reach 43 million kills and will be a race between PS3 and X-Box 360 players to see who does it first.

Bloody hell it's 3:30pm and it's still not in the marketplace even though it's released today.

back on the Gamer Acheivements subject I have just completed the BF Bad Company multiplayer levels and shot straight in at Skill Level 5 (1 being best, 50 being worst). Top 10%, man I'm good.

Well if you're on PC then you could just get BF 1942 for about £5 which is an absolute classic.

Forza 2 is the only gamve ive played where I got them all. Hardest one to get is the car collector though. You need serious cash to have every car in the garage. The rest are straight forward enough.

I think they add a nice litte extra to playing the game - I'm a big fan of the funny ones, either where you have to do something a little unusual or even sometimes the title of the achievement can make me chuckle "My Love for You Is Like a Truck" anyone?
