evora test drives
Discussion
Im with the masses here _ the red one in F1, Newcastle, with the oyster interior looks fantastic. But hey, don't get me wrong, if there's an evora to be had , yellow will do nicely beacuse the car still looks great and I honestly think it's one of the best cars I have ever driven and what an attention grabber when you drive throug town!!!

Well I'd suggest that the Evora, having child seats, isn't strictly a 'toy' in the manner that an Exige is, for example. But that's got me thinking... I never thought much of the Evora's looks. But your Evora is in exactly the same colour scheme as my Exige. And it looks rather nice. And we're going to have children by hook or by crook soon (a long personal story that nobody would give a s
t about on PH but we're doing IVF now and have *some* chance) and whilst the plan was always a bonkers family car plus a toy for me (which is what I've got), I've heard too many stories of people with the same idea ending up never having time to drive their 'toy' and sticking to the family saloon. My 'family saloon' is fun in a noisy, eats-tyres-in-2000-miles way, but it doesn't handle like a Lotus (well nothing that weight will).
I could always go back to Porsche, I loved my 993s and child seats are definitely feasible. Are the 'seats' in the Evora comparable with the size of the 911 seats, or are they significantly smaller (i.e. not even practical for toddlers)?
Haven't got the chance to see one up close yet, Lipscomb have told me they're getting a LHD one in at some point but I haven't heard from them yet.
Or, do I stick to the 'no compromise' plan and keep MY toy for MY use only?
PS. Zebra - that picture is excellently taken... the cloud structure in the sky (cirrus?) is fantastic and the car looks great. Lotus ought to buy that one for their marketing...

Also, cannot take responsibility/credit for the mrs photographs; she has an eye for photographing cars.

ps where abouts are you based? Come to the noth east, test drive a 'run-in' evora and have a run out with the chaps up here on some of the best roads in Britain.
I saw it in the flesh at GFOS this weekend for the first time - really impressed. It looks much better up close than in photo's, and sounds great too. Job well done. The rear seats are a joke, there is no way it's a 4 seater, and calling it a 2+2 is just plain daft. There's no way you'd be able to go a long distance in it 4-up, or even 3-up, including small kids. It's just too small.
