Saw an article on business lunch today on BBC2 re insurers going bust....reminded me that I still hadn't had my reimbursement for the Indepentdant collapse on the Tiv policy....while another car insurer on another policy backed by Indepentant paid out ages ago.

Why the wait ?

Anyone else still waiting ?

It was through Mannings....should I badger them ?

I had just paid in full for a years insurance with Drake when they went bust.
I had to wait about 18months for a 75% refund.

I have written to Mannings twice to chase this up, still waiting for a response..... angry phone call next i think!

I was lucky - I had three cars insured with Independent under their 'family fleet' policy (advertised in Sprint!). For a couple of years it was great - a good deal and a breakdown, if you know what I mean! - for each vehicle. Then at renewal time I'd sold one of the cars but the premium was still as much, plus it was harder to get a breakdown of what I was paying for each car. Anyway, they were suddenly uncompetitive so I moved away.
Now if only I'd sold tech in March 2000!
