High speed runs at a Yorkshire airfield. What was the top speed reached then?

Had a top day thanx to Garry Fosters' organisation. I must admit to being a little terrified before going( this was my first track day. Also felt like an imposter as the only Lotus there, but got into the spirit and saw 180 on the speedo and nothing fell off. Scary!!!

Thanks to Oliver for the pictures, but being a Cerbie owner he didn't grab any piccies of your Esprit! Did you get any?

The Tamora is still running in, so the owner kept to 5000 revs, but still saw an indicated 140mph, and felt very stable at that speed.

When's the next one? My Tamora will be run in by then, and I quite fancy 7500 revs in top gear - should give 170+mph!!

Who organises events at Elvington, or can you just drive on?

When is anyone next intending to go.

(I remember an airfield in Cumbria where you could do that - I'll always remember the look on the microlight's pilot's face as he came in to land and was faced with 1.5 tons of black Volvo charging towards him!)

Petrol Ted. I shall send some pictures of the Esprit, of particular interest maybe the picture of one "Pennior" struggling in the slip stream of the Esprit. Probably the lap on which he spun. To be forever known as "Kylie - Pennior"...."I'm spinning around.. get out of my way..."

I'm going to try to go to the next one to max. my Tamora. They're organised by the TVRCC, and should be advertised in their "Sprint" magazine. Have a look on the website.
