I have just installed opera. YOu should see what it does to Ted's emoticons !! they're bloody animated !

brilliant ! the one is a right laugh.

tee hee, not going back to IE5 now...

New browser!!!

Any good??? I would Dload and install but until I sort out my hard disk and get rid of Linux, I haven't got a lot of space!!!!

Opera is the fastest web browser around (other than Lynx before any techies make a comment). Fast on the download and fast on the rendering / display of the page. You will be suprised as to the performance difference when switching from IE / Netscape to Opera..... fantastic...

The only problem was that sometimes it might get the pages wrong - some of the formatting and active buttons. This was with Opera 5.01 so will be trying 6 in a minute. But not fantastic - something like 90% of websites are perfect, but the 10% that dont work tend to be IT related - the ones I need to access....

Bloody good though - just goes to show what a bunch of Norwegians can do when they put their mind to it!

Just downloaded opera. It's a bit good. Much faster than IE, and better too.

I especially like the way you can disable pop-up windows.

yeah, I was trying to get the bloody thing to laod pages quicker... the Opera browser is about twice as quick !!! I laughed when I saw your animations, classic! esp and !!!!!

I started using something called 'proxomitron' which got a mention in this months PCW magazine..

It's quality - virtually free (it's summat-or-other-ware but efectively free) - filters out all sorts of tat from web pages.. popups, banner ads etc..

Bugger, more work trying to circumvent that then! Or perhaps just introduce a subscription charge to Opera users?

It's not opera that can circumvent the banners (although I might be wrong). CarZee was talking about 'proxomitron'. I can't use it, becuase I'm forced to use an automatic proxy configuration script. So I'm still reading your banners. I even click on them sometimes.

Actually, I use proxomitron with IE6, so what am I bothering about ? yes - take all your anger out on Opera users...

I've been using Opera myself for over a year. It's just not my default browser. I know for example that it doesn't support my style sheet so the site looks a bit ragged in it. One day, I'll sort that.. which reminds me - the home page is buggered in Netscape

I use large fonts, which tends to cock up everybodys formatting. I run my screen on high resolution, and I'm not fond of eye strain.

Opera doesn't look any worse than IE on this site to me. But it's quicker.

I've been using opera for ages ( not a micro$haft fan)
and the only prob i get with the site is that some times the links dont work unless i open and close the hotlist ???

if you are downloading it get 6.01 not 6 as 6 is a bit buggy
