We have just had conformation that our Renault Clio V6 is eligible for the 2004 British GT championship. So its official the Clio V6 is a GT car. So anyone who thinks its not can take it up with Mr Ratel.

Excellent news

It might be debatable what is a GT car but considering the time, effort and investment you put into getting the car on the grid when they needed you

its only correct that they should recognise this and commit to let you run the car..

IS this long term eligability or will you have to suffer year on year question marks..

Good luck next season...

I fear that M. Ratel's long term plans don't include any of the Cup Class Cars.

220

I thought it was very unfair to have it excluded, as I stated in another thread,(colin Blower etc) glad to hear it's back on track

Excellent news Ben.

If the french man drops the CUP class in 2005 he may find he has lost over 1/2 the grid.

This is coming from a fan of big fast flame spitting GT cars, such as Saleens, Vipers etc. I'd hate to see the Cup class get dropped. It gave the best racing and the best mix of cars last year. Could provide some very interesting situations for the GT class cars next year, becuase I can imagine the speed differential between the works Lister and GNM Saleens and the slowest Cup class cars being pretty huge. Can't wait for it now

The Stiggy Vs. Crofty threads are nearly as amusing as the KitCarMan Vs The World threads over on the Kit Car forum. For Good or ill.
