Lumix TZ4/Pinnacle 10/

My wife has bought a Panasonic Lumix TZ4 compact camera. Now I have years of experience with Panasonic digital video and use Pinnacle 10 for mini DV video editing.This compact shoots 16:9 widescreen SD video at 25fps onto high speed SDHC cards using "Quicktime" Mpeg2 compresion. I have encountered several problems trying to use Pinnacle (which perports to be able to handle this regime)to edit footage.
I can only seem to be able to load one video file at a time and each takes an inordinate amount of time to load.
Allthough shot in 16:9 format the finished film shows,on a widescreen television black bands either side of the picture.
Any ideas would be gratefully received
