What SD memory cards?
Discussion
I'm after an 8Gb SD card.
The card I've been using up to now is a Sandisk 2Gb Ultra II SDHC card. It's been perfectly good, but having just ordered a new camera for my daughter which will require an SD card, the logical thing to do is give her mine and get a larger one for me.
Question is, I've just noticed that in addition to the Ultra II (where an 8Gb card seems to be around £20) I can also get an Extreme III for about twice the price.
Is there any benefit to this more costly card? I've never had a problem with the current card in the camera, but it can hang around transferring files to the PC. Not sure it's worth twice the price though, when I could just do something else for a few minutes instead!

If he takes the card out of the camera and puts into a card reader, he may be thankful for the extra speed, especially if transfering a couple of gb of data.
I do exactly that.I'm not sure the camera read/write speed is relevant, as I've never had an issue there. It's a Canon 450D, but God knows what the read/write speed is. I don't do much in the way of burst photography anyway, which I imagine is where it mostly matters?
