Virgin Train Refund, any experience?
Discussion
Just got back from an un-staffed station to go off to London via various trains. Trains were cancelled and buses were supposed to be sent but none arrived. Website said tickets are non refundable. So i rang up spoke to someone that would struggle to find his arse with both hands. I told him that i wanted to apply for a refund as the train was cancelled and no other alternative was given. Took my reference number and asked a couple of security questions to make sure i wasn't an Arabian Prince. Then he told me that i needed to speak to somebody else who happened to be on a national rate number. Only to find there not open now.
So i've now got a weekend with nothing to do. Has anyone any experierence with claiming a refund from virgin?

That sounds a good result. I've managed to get a refund after arguing with several people there. The first person did not understand what i was saying just wanted to speak over me. Kept saying that they didn't have to give me a refund even though i'd bought tickets through them. She spoke to her supervisor and carried on talking over. I told her that i wanted to speak to her supervisor, then she finally listened and put me through. Within a minute the bloke had arranged for me to post the tickets back to them for a full refund. The first person apparently thought that the trains were not virgin. I had offered her the booking reference but she didn't need it (obviously did)
Anyway i did miss a weekend with a mate that i don't see very often but at least i'll get my money back and hopefully go again in a few weeks.
